  19. WHAT IS WEB?
  20. WEB is a high-performance peer-to-peer local area Network Operating
  21. System that is compatible with vertually any network interface card and
  22. topology through its support of Novell(r) IPX drivers. WEB version 3.0
  23. provides seamless connectivity with NetWare(r) servers.

  27. WHAT IS WEB PAIRWARE?
  28. WEB PairWare are special two-user "serial-only" versions of the WEB
  29. Network Operating System. WEB PairWare connects two computers together
  30. with a serial cable to form a fully functional peer-to-peer local area
  31. network. WEB PairWare is a low-cost solution for networking two PCs and
  32. for connecting a laptop to a PC.

  34. HOW DOES SHAREWARE WORK?
  35. This "shareware" version of WEB PairWare 2.55 is fully functional.
  36. Shareware gives you the chance to try WEB PairWare before purchasing a
  37. registered license.

  39. WEB PAIRWARE 30 DAY TRIAL PERIOD
  40. You may use this shareware version of WEB PairWare without charge for a
  41. trial period of 30 days to decide if you want to purchase a registered
  42. license. After the 30 Day Trial Period:
  43. (1) you must stop using this shareware version;
  44. (2) this shareware version will cease to function;
  45. (3) you must purchase a registered license to continue using WEB
  46.     PairWare; and
  47. (4) you may keep copies of this shareware version to give to others.

  49. GIVING COPIES OF THIS SHAREWARE VERSION TO OTHERS
  50. You may copy and distribute this shareware version by any means,
  51. electronic or disk, as long as it is:
  52. (1) not rented,
  53. (2) not sold,
  54. (3) not bundled with a product that is sold or as an incentive to buy a
  55.     product that is sold, and
  56. (4) distributed with all files intact with no modifications.

  68. HOW TO REGISTER
  69. If you decide to purchase a registered license, just fill out the
  70. registration form found in REGISTER.TXT on the disk you installed from
  71. and return it to WEBCORP with your payment.

  73. PRODUCTS YOU CAN REGISTER
  74. You can choose from any of the following products:

  76. ■ WEB PairWare 2.55 (serial-based version)
  77. This is the same as the shareware version, but with a printed manual and
  78. registered license.

  80. ■ WEB PairWare Advanced 3.0 (serial-based version)
  81. An advanced version of PairWare based on version 3.0 of the WEB Network
  82. Operating System that comes with a printed manual and registered
  83. license.

  85. ■ WEB 3.0 (card-based version)
  86. The advanced version of WEB 3.0 that supports ARCnet, Ethernet, and
  87. Token Ring topologies and cards. Sold with 1, 5, 10, 15, and 30 user
  88. licenses.

  94. SAMPLING WEB PAIRWARE WITHOUT A CABLE
  95. A cable is not supplied with WEB PairWare. You may install WEB PairWare
  96. on this PC without connecting it to another PC if you want to take a
  97. look at the install program and Station Manager before purchasing a
  98. cable. When you get to the screen for configuring your serial port,
  99. choose MANUAL CONFIGURATION and enter some ficticious settings. After
  100. you purchase a cable and connect this PC to another, you will need to
  101. re-run the Install program on both machines and properly configure them.

  103. SAMPLING WEB PAIRWARE WITH A CABLE
  104. To set up your network, connect a serial cable between this machine and
  105. another. Run this Install program on both machines and follow the
  106. prompts. Help is available from F1.

  108. WHERE TO GET A CABLE
  109. Cable specifications and sources can be found at the beginning of the
  110. MINIDOC.TXT file included with WEB PairWare.

  112. WEBCORP LICENSE AGREEMENT
  113. (When you install WEB PairWare you will be presented with the following
  114. text. Pressing ENTER to continue with installation constitutes your
  115. acceptance of this agreement.)

  117. If you agree with the following terms and conditions, press ENTER to
  118. indicate your agreement and begin installation. If you do not agree,
  119. press F10 to quit and give this software to someone else.For 30 days,
  120. you have a license to use WEB PairWare Sampler for the purpose of making
  121. a decision to purchase a registered copy, after which this license
  122. expires. For an unlimited period, you may keep copies for the purpose of
  123. giving them to others. You may not rent, sell, modify, decompile,
  124. reverse engineer, or bundle the software with other products that are
  125. sold. LIMITED WARRANTY: THIS PROGRAM IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" BASIS
  126. WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT
  127. LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A
  128. PARTICULAR PURPOSE. THE ENTIRE RISK AS TO QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE OF
  129. THESE PROGRAMS IS WITH YOU. SHOULD THE PROGRAM PROVE DEFECTIVE, YOU (NOT
  130. WEBCORP) ASSUME THE ENTIRE COST OF ALL NECESSARY REPAIR, SERVICING, OR
  131. CORRECTION. IN NO EVENT SHALL WEBCORP BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY INDIRECT,
  132. SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR SIMILAR DAMAGES OR LOST DATA OR
  133. PROFITS TO PURCHASER OR ANY OTHER PERSON OR ENTITY, EVEN IF WEBCORP HAS
  134. BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGE. This is the complete and
  135. exclusive agreement between you and WEBCORP and supersedes any prior
  136. agreement in any form relating to WEB PairWare.
